IPCS in Belgian Beer Bar, Shinjuku

イカレポンチーズ　is the name of Ayumi's girl crew from Japan. Hug Heaven met the lovely ladies out at a Belgian beer bar in Shinjuku. Everyone drank many international beers large and small and bathed in the warm red light, taking many pictures. Ron-chan got drunk and fell asleep for a little bit. On the way home Kimi fell off her bike and Ron-chan defiantly flipped off the camera.

コンパ ＠ 花団

This is a scene from Ayumi-chan's hometown. This is the izakaya that she used to hang out at with her friends, called 花団 (Hanadan) . The gathering taking place hasn't changed much in ritual since those days. It's called コンパ (konpa) and it involves a group of guys and girls getting together for a sort of group date where they get drunk and act like knuckleheads. This particular izakaya allows the underage kids to get drunk and go crazy. Apparently it's good for business. We were lucky enough to witness this ritual, like looking into a scene from the past. HASHIMOTO - the suburban landscape

I grew up in the suburb of Tokyo, Tama-ku, Kawasaki (20 minutes train ride to the west from Shinjuku). After I came to the U.S., my family sold the house there, and moved to Hashimoto, which is even farther (about one-hour train ride to the west) from Shinjuku.

Mama's morning commute, 5 mimutes bike ride to her work.
